Arrest Made Following a Shooting at Burdogz Bar and Grill
On Tuesday, 10/27/2020, a fatal shooting occurred at Victoria's local spot, Burdogz Bar and Grill, where officers responded to the shooting at 11:51 pm. The victim was 32-year-old Aqucraigis Watson, who was an employee at the facility.
Since opening, Burdogz has received some police calls including, loud music, public intoxication, but none of such serious nature.
When police arrived at the location, Watson was lying on the ground outside of the location. Upon arrival, officers-initiated life-saving measures on Watson until the Victoria Fire Department arrived and transported Watson to the hospital. After being transported, Watson eventually succumbed to his wounds and was pronounced deceased.
According to a press release made by the Victoria Police Department, the shooting occurred after an altercation inside Burdogz, where it was reported that Watson was off-the-clock. You can see a briefing from this morning with this link.
With the information that has been gathered so far, VPD does not believe this incident is gang-related. With the help of on-site witnesses and tips, there has already been an arrest made, 32-year-old Jose Gonzalez, Jr.
On Wednesday, 10/28/2020, at 4:50 pm, a traffic stop was made on the 2900 block of Del Mar Dr. Suspect Jose Gonzalez Jr. was in the vehicle and was arrested and charged with murder. Gonzalez is currently behind bars, and there is currently a $250,000-bond set for his release.
