What a nightmare and it was all caught on video!
Girl Scout Troop 114204 were enjoying an afternoon of swimming and camping fun as they explored the Huntsville State Park in hopes of earning several badges.
Instead these sweet girls survived a harrowing escape from a 14 foot alligator!
Witnesses say the alligator was indeed charging.
Several reports, like this one from Click2Houston offering this witness' testimony "There is no doubt that the alligator was charging the girls in the water."
“This is an emergency!,” the person recording the video exclaimed. “Look how big it is!”
Thankfully the Troop Leader Intervened!
In the middle of the screaming and chaos as the alligator closed in, Troop Leader Nicole Glenn intervened as she made her way in the water to get between the alligator and her troop.
“There was no doubt in my mind that that alligator was not going to try and eat somebody,” Glenn said.

One young Girl Scout got confused and thought her friends were leaving her on the dock so she unknowingly jumped from the dock into the water as the alligator approached!
Thankfully no one was hurt!
“I was thinking, this is the day I die,” one Girl Scout offered.
“I always say that I love them to death. I always say I would do anything for them. Now, I definitely know I would do anything for them,” Troop Leader Glenn said.
Park police officers closed the swimming area for the rest of the day, according to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.
