A Winning Mega Millions Jackpot Ticket Was Finally Sold in Texas

It's about time! Someone in Texas has won a Mega Millions Jackpot valued at $800 after matching all five winning lottery numbers and the Mega Ball! The winning numbers for Tuesday’s Mega Millions $800 jackpot were 01-02-16-24-66, Mega Ball: 06, Megaplier: 4.

According to the Texas Lottery, the winning jackpot ticket was purchased at a Murphy USA gas station at 7520 Highway 90 A in Sugar Land, Texas.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I WIN:

Annuity option: The Mega Millions annuity is paid out as one immediate payment followed by 29 annual payments. Each payment is 5% bigger than the previous one. This helps protect winners’ lifestyles and purchasing power in periods of inflation.

Cash option: A one-time, lump-sum payment that is equal to all the cash in the Mega Millions jackpot prize pool. Minus taxes, of course.

HOW LONG DO I HAVE TO CLAIM A LOTTERY WINNER:

A ticket holder forfeits any claim to a prize for a draw game after the expiration of the 180th day following the draw date; and for a scratch ticket game after the expiration of the 180th day following the official "end of game" as determined by the Commission. These deadlines may be extended for some time for certain "eligible" military personnel.
