A Community Member is Creating an Easy Way to Shop Local

Our community is bursting with potential, not just the city but the people in the community. Inspiration is around every corner and so many people are hustling and bustling around town trying to grow themselves.

STEPPING UP TO HELP OUT

One member in the community has stepped up to the plate to help start building community members after being uplifted herself. Vanessa Canchola has been building herself up for quite some time. A financial and credit advisor by day, a small business owner by night.

LOCAL SUPPORT

Canchola says she was blessed enough to have a great support group of like-minded business people who helped each other out over the phone. "I love making connections and meeting new people and talking to people, then I thought 'man I wish I had something like this locally.'"

BRINGING AN IDEA TO LIFE

That's when the idea sparked. There are many small businesses in the area but many don't know how to market themselves or bring awareness to their brand.

At the beginning of the year, Conchola put together a massive Google Doc listing small businesses that she has gotten in touch with. The idea is, there needed to be somewhere people could go to and check out small businesses all in one place.

USEFUL TO THE ENTIRE COMMUNITY

The list is categorized and lists many small businesses in the area. All one list is so incredibly valuable to -not only business owners- but the community members as well!

For example, if you are organizing an event or party, you now have a place to go and look for all the products you need, whether you're needing a cake made, family photos done, or even looking for a house, the list has so many places that are run by members right here in your community.

To keep the momentum rolling Conchola recently put together a networking event. This Saturday at Greek Bros small business owners can mingle and network with like-minded individuals. If you are interested in the event you can see the details HERE- and be sure to bring your cards!
