We're already 5 beer cases into the summer fishing season. If you've been fishing without registering for the Texas CCA STAR Tournament, just know, there's more on the line than a redfish.

The Coastal Conservation Association’s (CCA) State of Texas Anglers’ Rodeo, better known as the STAR Tournament, is one of the biggest fishing tournaments in the country. Every year, thousands of people across the Texas coast compete for their shot at life-changing prizes, like fully loaded Ford trucks, boat and trailer combos, scholarships, and more.

The tournament kicked off on May 24, 2025, and will last until September 1, 2025. So far, only two lucky people have reeled in a tagged redfish and walked away with the grand prize: a Ford truck, boat, and trailer.

That means three more of those top prize bundles are still swimming out there. On top of that, five additional boat and trailer bundles(without the truck) are also unclaimed.

How to win a STAR tournament prize.

Two have been claimed, but five top prize packages could still be yours. All you need is a valid Texas fishing license, CCA membership, and STAR registration. There’s still plenty of time to get on the water and hook a winner.

You can get a fishing license online through the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.
