3 Shot in Victoria Overnight – 1 Victim Has Succumbed to Wounds

On Sunday, January 15th, 2023, at 3:44 am, the Victoria Police Department received several 911 calls about numerous gunshots being heard from the area of The Grove Apartments, 4405 N. Navarro St.
Preliminary investigation revealed that three subjects had been shot while at the location. Two victims were transported by a private vehicle while Victoria Fire Department EMS transported another to an area hospital.
One victim, 39-year-old Julian Cruz, succumbed to his wounds. The two remaining victims, a 31-year-old male and a 27-year-old female remain in hospital care.
We believe this to be an isolated incident, and the public is not in danger. No arrests have been made; however, Victoria Police Department detectives are following up on all leads.
