Are Texas scratch-offs getting luckier right now? They might be. There have been two $1 million winning tickets claimed within a 24-hour period. One ticket was a $20 and the other was a $50 scratcher! While the wins were not in Victoria, it's always fun to read about people winning money.

Winning ticket sold in Houston, Texas.

A Houston resident claimed a top prize-winning ticket worth $1 million in the game 500X which is a $50 ticket. This winning ticket was number one in a book of 20. I have always felt that the first ticket and the last ticket in a book are the luckiest.
I have also always believed that big winning tickets are sold in inconspicuous looking stores and not big-name stores. And this recent winning ticket in Houston is another example. The winning ticket was sold at Dean's Grocerette Inc. on Fannin St. in Houston.  This was the ninth of 15 top prizes worth $1 million to be claimed in this game.

Winning ticket sold in San Antonio.

A San Antonio resident also claimed a top prize-winning ticket worth $1 million scratch in the game $1,000,000 Crossword, a $20 ticket. The winning ticket was number four in a book of 20. Lately, it seems that lower-number tickets are winning big.
The ticket was purchased at a Circle K, located at 4801 Walzem Road in San Antonio. This one goes against my theory and was sold at a big-name store with a nice storefront.
