Kelly Wendel was JP's Co Host this morning. She did an amazing job! Kelly Wendel is 13 years old. She in the 7th grade and attends Meyersville School. She loves to draw, build Legos, ride her horse and cheer on the Dallas Cowboys with her daddy.  In case you missed it Kelly told us her lego project and how much respect for the brave men and women that defend our country. She started working on this Lego project back in October 2014, buying little bits at a time. Legos can get pretty expensive. This year for the Cuero Livestock Show she wanted to do something to represent our troops.  She is proud to say her Grandpa Wendel served in the Marine Corp and her Papa Klimitchek served in the National Guard. Shortly after the Cuero Livestock Show she was honored that she got to display her military Lego project at the muster in Victoria, TX. Which helps raise a lot money for all wounded warriors to go on a big fishing trip in Port O’Connor, TX for Warrior’s Weekend.

Kelly told us she thinks people who serve in the military are our true heroes. These brave men and women of the Armed Forces are true unsung heroes of our nation. A lot of us tend to take our freedom for granted but Warriors Weekend gives us a chance to step back and look at all what our soldiers have done for us. We watch the news and see all the soldiers that have lost their lives for our freedom. Thousands and thousands of American soldiers fight to defend our freedom every hour, every minute of every day. Warriors Weekend is a time to recognize and give back to our soldiers. She knows that if it wasn’t for all those brave men and women, we would not have the freedom to do the things that she loves to do, such as build a project in honor of our living and deceased members of our military.

Kelly prays for our active soldiers is for God to guide and protect them through their daily lives. And for all our wounded warriors, she prays for God to ease their pain and suffering and heal them. For the deceased soldiers, that God grant them eternal rest and be with them in heaven. And for the families of all the wounded and deceased warriors, that God give them peace and comfort them.

Kelly has decided to donate all of her military Lego project the VA hospital so that all these wounded soldiers and other military men and women may enjoy looking at it. Kelly figures if it can at least put a smile on their face and let each of them know how blessed we are for their service to our country, it would be very rewarding to her because without them we would not be able to enjoy our freedom.  Thank you for all that have served and continue to serve the USA. God Bless you all and our country.
