After appearing together in Traded in 2016, Kris Kristofferson and Trace Adkins are reuniting for another Western film. Hickok, from Cinedigm and Status Media, is scheduled for release in July, and The Boot has the first look at the movie's trailer.

Hickok is a "frontier thriller" centered around the life of famous outlaw Wild Bill Hickok. The movie features Oscar-nominated actor Bruce Dern and Westworld’s Luke Hemsworth alongside Kristofferson and Adkins. In his first lead role in a feature film, Hemsworth will portray Hickok, while Kristofferson will play the role of Abilene, Kan., Mayor George Knox, and Adkins has the part of Phil Poe, an influential saloon owner who puts a bounty on Hickok’s head.

Hickok was directed by Timothy Woodward Jr. and written by Michael Lanahan. The movie will also feature Cameron Richardson, Kaiwi Lyman-Mersereasu and Robert Catrini; it was produced by Woodward Jr., Lauren de Normandie, Henry Penzi and Chris Nicoletti, and executive produced by Benjamin Gerry, JD Seraphine, Kirk Peterson and Eric Peterson.

Adkins, who released his 12th studio album, Something’s Goin’ On, in March, has previously made appearances in a number of films, including Stagecoach and Deepwater Horizon. Kristofferson is also a seasoned actor: He earned his first role in a film in 1971, and has since starred in movies such as A Star Is Born and Billy The Kid.

Hickok will premiere in 10 cities across the United States, including Los Angeles, New York, Dallas, Chicago and Denver, on July 7. On that same day, the film will also be available for purchase through On Demand and Digital HD services.
