.Alisa Jones submitted Shirley Utesey.   My Mom is a true super hero! I would be lost if I didn't have her! I am the only child and gave her a run for her money. She was always there for me even when I let her down. In 1998 my father was diagnosed with Cancer. They own a small water well business and Dad was the bread winner. When he got sick she never let me know how bad things really were. She did what she had to do to make ends meet. She found a job working at a local wrecker company as a dispatcher making pennies. She made sure I was taken care of and my Dad made it to every doctor appointment and radiation treatment. See, with them being self-employed we did not have health insurance. Mom made sure that she covered all of dad treatments and made sure I was able to graduate high school at the same time. In 2011 my husband was diagnosed with CANcer. My mother stepped up and was my rock through all of this. My husband d and I had to live in Houston for 3 months. My mother made sure all of our kids where taken care of and had the love they needed to make it through this tough time. My boys were 15, 14, 7 at this time. She never made us feel they were a burden on her. I’m telling you all this because my mom is always doing things for everyone else and I can honestly say has never did things for herself. Will you please make my Heroes mother's day amazing!

.Leslie Preslar submitted Peggie Slade  I have a really difficult time visiting my grandma because I know that she doesn't usually recognize me. Tonight, however, I ventured down to see her with my mom just because I needed and wanted to.
Of course as I hugged her, she stared at me with a lost look and stated, "You'll have to tell me your name again as I can't quite place who you are." I forced the tears back with a smile and said my name. Then I sat back and watched the routine she and my mom have every single night...my mom doing her laundry, drawing her a bath, giving her a bath, giving her all of her meds, making sure she brushed her teeth, cleaning up her dirty dishes, dressing her, making sure she finished her breathing treatment, turning on her bedtime music, tucking her in, making sure all doors were locked, and telling her, "Goodnight, mom. I love you."All of which, grandma didn't make too easy on mom as mom was helping her. I saw my grandma yell at my mom and argue about taking a bath, she threw her glass down, and she blew up at her over silly things. I sat there in shock. I know it's the disease. I know it's not my grandma, and it breaks every piece of my heart. Again, I held back the tears. I have no earthly idea how my mom does all of this every single night and tons more during the day. I joked with my mom by reminding her that I am a teacher....that after 15 years already, my patience is wearing thin...that I may not have much more when I'm older. I told her she must promise me to not be like that to me when she gets up there. I know, though, that no matter what, I will be doing all of the above for my mom as well, and every night I will tell her, "Goodnight, mom. I love you." Just like in the book "I'll Love You Forever" the roles get reversed as life moves on. I saw that tonight with my own two eyes, and it's something I will always cherish. God bless angels here on earth.

.Collin Wendel submitted Jennifer Wendel    Well let me just start off saying that without this lady (my wife), I don't know what my girls would do without her. She is the rock that keeps our family together. While I'm at work providing for the family, she is constantly getting the kids to where they need to go. Her superpower is that she can connect with my girls so well. There are no too many kids that want to hang out with their mom cause they are 'old fossils' , but my kids love to hang out with her. Mind you, I have an 18 yr old and a 13 year old and they just love to spend time with their mother. In today's society, this is very rare and I'm so very proud of the fact that they feel this way about their mother. My daughter has been a cheerleader for all 4 yrs. of her high school career and her mom didn't miss one single game to go watch her even though she doesn't really care for football. She is so good at connecting with the girls and relating to their problems in school. She always encourages her youngest daughter and helping her achieve her goals. Constantly driving her to either softball practice, horse lessons, religion class or art lessons, she is always there for her. She is what I call the ' ultimate super mom'. Plus on top of that, she always has supper cooked and clothes washed for the family. She is strong in her faith in God that is being passed down to both my daughters. I'm just so thankful to have her as the mother of my children because without her it would be very difficult for me to be there for them, because I'm usually working at my job or busy on the ranch. In conclusion, I know there are a lot of special moms out there, but this one holds a special place in my heart. She provides something that is irreplaceable and that's the love and support of a true mother.

.Gwendolyn Weise submitted Arleen Weise    She's worked so hard all the time. Her health is not the best and shouldn't even be working at all. She's always been there for all of her kids. She raised 4 wonderful children on her own. Despite the heartbreak from losing her baby son in the deep-water horizon rig explosion 5 years ago she still goes to work and helps everyone as much as she can. Seems like she's always doing for everyone else. I think she needs a day of relaxation.

.Jeremy Petru submitted Dawn Petru  My wife is a super mom, I am a Police Officer and work shift work. Dawn is always on top of everything, from having all the bills paid to having the house clean every night. She is always putting everyone else's needs ahead of her own. She is constantly doing things for both of our boys ages 2 &7. She does it all without one complaint and pretty much as a single mom, while I'm working. She is a true inspiration and a wonderful person, not only for our family but for everyone she meets. She is the rock in our family. She deserves to be the Super mom of the crossroads!!

.Danielle Warzecha submitted Emily Warzecha.    Growing up my Mom always supported my sister and I in whatever we did not missing a band performance , gymnastics meet, sporting event I cheered at, or a parent meeting for all our activities all the while working and taking care of her mother. Nothing has changed because now grandma doesn't miss a ball game, track meet or band concert her grandsons participate in. She makes sure after every game there are fresh baked cookies or brownies for the entire team, coaches, and fans, all of my sons friends and coaches call her Grandma. Last year one of our players had her a shirt made with all the seniors numbers on it that said Grandma's brownie bunch. Three back surgeries and two knee replacements haven't stopped her from being there to support the Cobras even when we had to take her in a wheel chair. Mom is always there to lend us a hand when we need it and we probably don't tell her often enough how much we love her and appreciate everything she has done for us over the years. Thanks mom I am proud to say I am your daughter and am glad you passed your giving ways onto me.

.Travis Law submitted Nichole Boots  My Mom does not have super powers, she has a shield (badge) and wears an invisible cape! My Mom AKA Cop Mom is the mother to all 799 students at Cade Middle School. She has the power to believe in children, empower them and be a positive female role model. My Mom works hard every day and then comes home, takes off her shield and becomes Super Mom to my two little sisters and myself. She makes sure we have a good family meal every night even when she has to work late. My Mom wakes up before everyone in the morning to make us all breakfast and set the table. She has taught me to be strong, to celebrate my life and be grateful for what I have. Most of all my Mom has shown me what it takes to be brave! She has been in law enforcement since 2004 and wears her badge proudly. I was only 3 years old when I saw her put on her real hero suit for the first time. She has always put every else first in her life. She doesn't complain often even when I can see that she is tired, stressed out or sick. My Mom doesn't ask for much except us eating at the table together for meals and me allowing her to tuck me in bed at night even though I am 13 now. My Mom would never say she deserves anything in life she will only tell you she is blessed for what she has.

.Wendy Renken submitted Mary Jo Renken  Our mother has the super power of never giving up hope and faith. She is the strongest women we know. She raised three daughters as a single parent. With the stress of raising 3 daughters and losing a grandchild at 7 days old, she suffered a Hemorrhagic stroke at the age of 55, which left her partially paralyzed on the left side. Having to face the world as a completely different person and trying to learn how to pick up where life left her as a handicapped women, she hasn't given up hope or faith. She deals with people staring at her, and she smiles at them. She deals with people unwilling to her, and she shrugs her shoulders and tells herself she can do it herself and keeps on trucking. This lady struggles daily with what God has given her but she still continues to live life to the fullest, and always has a smile on her face. She is defiantly a super hero to us!
