I love all kinds of music, especially country music, but I really like the guitar slingers. These are the guys that, not only sing and write really well, they also play guitar like they're from another planet.Guys like Brad Paisley and Keith Urban come to mind immediately, but there's another guy who fits into that category perfectly and, although he's slowed down his touring and recording pace a little over the last few years, Vince Gill is among the best all-time guitar slingers.

Vince Gill releases his first studio album in five years, Guitar Slinger, today. The new album features Vince’s daughters, Jenny and Corrina, singing background vocals on a few of the
tracks. CMT Daily Roundup quoted Gill as saying, “They’re on there, not because they’re my daughters…first and foremost, I’m too big of a music snob, in a sense, that if you’re not pretty good you’re not gonna get to come and [laughs] turn up on the recording process. So, yeah, and you’re also trying to be an encouraging parent. I don’t wanna be the Brady Bunch or the Partridge Family or any of that kind of stuff, but I want them to always know they’re welcome in my world.” Vince has lined up a week of TV appearances in promotion of Guitar Slinger, including a visit to NBC’s Today show on Wednesday and The Early Show on CBS this Saturday.
Vince’s last album, the 4-CD These Days set, debuted in 2005 and went on to win Best Country Album at the Grammys. An episode of "CMT Crossroads" featuring Sting and Vince Gill is scheduled to air November 25th at 10PM Eastern on CMT.
