Victoria College’s Jazz Combo, along with jazz ensembles from Victoria East and West High Schools, will perform in concert at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 7 in the Victoria East High School Auditorium. The concert is free and open to the public. Tunes to be performed in concert include “One Note Samba,” by Antonio Carlos Jobim; “Red Clay,” by Freddie Hubbard; “All of Me,” by Seymour Simons and Gerald Marks; “Corcovado (Quiet Nights of Quiet Stars),” by Antonio Carlos Jobim; “Watermelon Man,” by Herbie Hancock; “St. Louis Blues,” by W.C. Handy; “Sax in the City,” by George Vincent; “Birdland,” arranged by John Higgins; “Cantaloupe Island,” by Herbie Hancock; “Count Bubba,” arranged by Paul Murtha; and “Vehicle,” arranged by Ralph Ford.
