Victoria County Genealogical Society will host a genealogy seminar at 8:30 a.m. Oct. 20 at The Victoria College Student Center, Room A, 2200 E. Red River St. The guest speaker, Martha Jones, Ph.D., teaches genealogy classes at VC, researches family history and is a group leader for the Texas Tracers who travel to the Family History Library in Salt Lake City, Utah, each year to pursue their ancestral heritage.

The lectures offered during this seminar have been constructed to offer current sources for genealogical and family history records available online, in local and state repositories, and national genealogical archives and collections and to present techniques and ideas for making ancestral research both successful and enjoyable, says the Victoria Advocate.

Early registration, which ends Saturday, is $35. After that, registration is $45 per person. Box lunches will be served. Mail your name, address, phone and email along with payment (made out to VCGS) to Victoria County Genealogical Society, P.O. Box 413, Victoria, Texas 77902-0413.
