If you live in Victoria and the surrounding area and are interested in art, you should become familiar with the Victoria Art League. The VAL is a vital resource for the crossroads art community.

Victoria Art League held its Spring Art Show recently. There were 65 adult entries and 52 youth entries.

The winners of the show were:

Adults: Angalee De Forest•  Youth: Charlotte Wyatt

 Winner of the Best of Show: Marilyn Key with her pastel drawing, "RopeTricks"

The best of classes in the youth division were:

Elementary classes: Alexis Copeland

Middle school classes: Javier Soliz

High school classes: Ryan Perez

Best of classes in the adult categories were:

Drawing: Marilyn Key

Painting: Paula Kainer

Photography: Jim Feig

Sculpture/Pottery: Paul Padilla

The Victoria Art League is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in 1966. Their Mission is to provide for members and the community a vital working
organization with opportunities for art education, creativity, art
appreciation, and exhibition of visual arts

 Their purpose is to further the artistic development of all participants through workshops, demonstrations, exhibits, and other education endeavors, to encourage public interest in art by sponsoring exhibits, lectures, and any other legitimate means of promoting interest, to extend to all, facets of art which would not otherwise be available, and to actively promote the study and appreciation of art in Victoria, TX.
