Registration for Victoria College's Nurse Aide Program at the Calhoun County Center will be 5 to 6 p.m. Wednesday and at the VC Gonzales Center from 5 to 6 p.m. Thursday. VC's Calhoun County Center is at 900 N. Virginia St. in Port Lavaca. VC's Gonzales Center is at 424 E. Sarah DeWitt St. in Gonzales.

The Nurse Aide Program prepares students for entry-level nursing assistance and provides a level of knowledge, skills and abilities essential to provide basic care to residents of long-term care facilities, reports the Victoria Advocate. Those who complete the Nurse Aide Program will be eligible to take the Texas Nurse Aide Registry Exam to become a nurse aide. This is a noncredit course that does not apply toward a credit degree, credit certification or academic transfer.
