Some 376 Victoria College students will graduate during VC's 89th annual commencement at 10 a.m. Saturday in the VISD Fine Arts Center. VC mathematics professor Diana Pagel will give the commencement address, and Zeke Dierlam will be the student speaker at the ceremony. Dierlam, 22, is one of the top academic graduates. He will receive an Associate of Arts degree as well as an Associate of Science degree, reports the Victoria Advocate.

 

Pat Vandervoort, Victoria College vice president of instruction, and David Murphy, Victoria College Foundation treasurer, will present the Distinguished Teaching Award. Pagel was the 2013 recipient of the award.

 

Josie Rivera, Victoria College Board of Trustees secretary, and Missy Klimitchek, Victoria College registrar, will award the diplomas.

 

The event is free and open to the public. However, seating is limited. Tickets will be available at the door on a first-come, first-served basis.
