Victoria College's Academy of Lifelong Learning will host its fall open house from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday in the Continuing Education Building, Room 102. Coffee and refreshments will be served.

Academy of Lifelong Learning is a membership organization for active, mature adults ages 50 and above, offering classes and social activities for continued intellectual and personal growth. "Learning doesn't end once we reach a certain age," Victoria College President Tom Butler told the Victoria Advocate. "Today's active seniors are proof that learning and social activities don't stop at retirement. Victoria College offers courses for young learners as well as older students."

Members will be able to register for more than 30 courses at the open house. There is a one-time membership fee of $50, which covers all activities for an entire year.

The Academy of Lifelong Learning offers daytime and evening courses, lectures, activities and special events on a wide range of topics, said Destiny Olson, VC's lifelong learning program specialist. "There are no exams, no credits and no college degrees required. With more than 30 topics to choose from this fall, there is sure to be something for everyone," Olson said.
