University of Houston-Victoria infielder Chad Kruse and pitcher Nick Huff are finding success on the baseball field this summer.

Kruse currently leads the Victoria Generals for four offensive categories in the Texas Collegiate League, while Huff has compiled a 3-0 record with seven saves and a 1.40 ERA for the Regina Red Sox in the Western Major Baseball League.

Kruse, who has compiled a .278 batting average through 35 games,, leads the Generals in hits (40), RBI (21), doubles (10) and stolen bases (7). He is second in runs scored with 20.

Huff has made 16 appearances for the Red Sox and has allowed eight runs on 23 hits and seven walks, while striking out 34 in 25.2 innings.

Another former UHV pitcher, Tanner Hamilton, is currently 1-0 for the AZL Diamondbacks in the Rookie Arizona League. He has made four appearances and worked 7.1 innings allowing seven runs on 13 hits and three walks, while striking out 12.
