Before the 2015 Trophy Saddle Series begins, there's a chance for horses and their owners to get comfortable on stage. Star Horse Club, a nonprofit group of area horse owners, has planned several shows and classes for 2015. On Oct. 25, a warm-up show with seven divisions will be hosted in Sinton at the San Patricio County Fairgrounds. The judge will be Tim Smith, of San Angelo, according to a news release.

New to the Trophy Saddle Series will be the introduction of ranch horse classes. The classes are American Quarter Horse Association classes and are designed to show the natural abilities of the working ranch horse. The classes are becoming increasingly popular within the western horse community, according to the news release. Each show will reward hi-point and reserve hi-point awards for each division, and first-place awards for all halter classes, ribbons through eighth place and end of the year trophy saddles.
