Trinity Episcopal School to Host Young Filmmakers

The Young Filmmakers Institute is returning to Trinity Episcopal School for film camp from Monday-July 19. This is the second year the camp has been conducted. Anthony Pedone, executive director of the Victoria Texas Independent Film Festival tells the Victoria Advocate the program will include special effects artists Joey Shanks and Kendall Music, both of magicnow.com, and award-winning independent film director Darko Lungulov. "He is traveling back to Victoria for the second time and will teach the kids the art of directing and editing," Pedone said. Students will work on editing footage shot during Theatre Victoria's Triple Threat Camp earlier this summer and work with Lungulov to produce a complete documentary.

Actor Michael Maize from the film "National Treasure" and soon-to-be actor on "True Blood" on July 14, will take part in the camp to teach students about acting.

The camp will cover all three subjects - special effects, directing and editing, and acting - from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for two weeks.

Registration is required. It is open to the public. The registration fee for the camp is $150 and does not include lunch. Students are asked to bring a lunch. To register, email Pedone at anthony@vtxindiefilmfest.com.
