Toby Keith was on hand to welcome President-elect Donald Trump to Washington, D.C., on Thursday (Jan. 19). The country superstar performed at Trump's Make America Great Again! Welcome Celebration a day before Trump's inauguration.

Keith took the stage at the Lincoln Memorial in the nation's capitol for the performance, which featured patriotic hits including "An American Soldier," "Made in America" and "Beer for My Horses," ending with "Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue (The Angry American)."

He also saluted the military and thanked outgoing President Obama during his performance, as well as welcoming the President-elect.

Take a look at the performance at the 1:35 mark in the clip above.

Here's What Country Stars Said About the 2016 Election

A number of entertainers declined to be part of the Trump festivities due to public controversy, but Keith was adamant about his decision to perform, telling Entertainment Weekly, "I don’t apologize for performing for our country or military ... I performed at events for previous presidents [George W.] Bush and [Barack] Obama and over 200 shows in Iraq and Afghanistan for the USO."

Lee Greenwood also performed at the event, and former Little Texas singer Tim Rushlow took the stage alongside Lonestar singer Richie McDonald and Restless Heart's Larry Stewart as the Frontmen of Country.

Big & Rich and Rascal Flatts lead singer Gary LeVox are among the artists slated to perform during other functions related to the inauguration. Garth Brooks turned down the chance to perform for Trump because, as he explained in a Facebook chat on Monday (Jan. 1), the dates conflicted with his own live dates after he had to add more shows to his run in Cincinnati.
