Believe it or not, it's time to start thinking about the holidays and the many festivities coming up in Victoria and the surrounding communities!

Dec. 1, the holiday spirit rolls through the streets of downtown Victoria with the annual Lighted Christmas Parade. This is one of the most well-attended events in Victoria each year, according to the Victoria Advocate. The parade typically draws more than 100 entries from Victoria and surrounding communities. The parade includes lighted floats, marching bands, cheerleaders, drill teams, dance teams and decorated vehicles. Come enjoy beautiful lights.Rain or shine, the parade will begin at 6 p.m. An estimated 20,000 people will watch the entries travel along Main and Bridge streets during the two-hour parade.

Applications for parade entries will be accepted until 5 p.m. on Nov. 16. Applications are available at victoriatx.org by clicking on the Parks and Recreation link.
