One of the most-beloved children's books of all time is Love You Forever by Robert Munsch. This sweet story of a mother's never-ending love for her son has been read to kids for a couple of generations now. But do you know the tragic inspiration behind the story?

According to a blog post at babycenter.com:

“I’ll love you forever,

I’ll like you for always,

as long as I’m living

my baby you’ll be.”

You’ll probably recognize those words from Robert Munsch’s children’s book, Love You Forever. It’s among the best-selling kids’ books of all time, but it still tends to provoke very different responses among parents. Depending on who you talk to, it’s either either a touching account of a mother’s unending love or the ultimate example of helicopter parenting gone bad.
