Music has always been a part of my life.  When someone asks, “What does music mean to me?”  it causes me to pause.  I've heard people call it the "sound track of our lives". I've heard certain genres of music called "noise". I've heard of certain religions banning music. That is just beyond comprehension to me. I can't imagine my life without music. To me it means everything.  It was how I was raised, how I communicated with people, how I made and continue to make a living.

Music means watching the generation before me gather in my grandmother’s living room, a family, playing music together.  It’s where I got my first impression of the world and the place music would play in my relationships with family and friends.
It allowed me opportunities at a young age to see and play places with people who have long since been gone.
It has given me an avenue to sometimes release my demons and sometimes keep them to play with for awhile.
As much as I could, I have tried to pass the power of music on to my children because let’s face it--- I am a radio guy---that’s pretty much all the inheritance they are going to receive. For all of these reasons, I have a deep and abiding respect for music and musicians, no matter what style or genre.
So, no matter what your taste, let the music play!
