I have lived in this great state going on 5 years now and it's truly amazing comparing the food between northern states and Texas.  When I moved down here I had never heard of a kolache, breakfast tacos, brisket tacos, Shiner Bock, menudo, all that good stuff.  I guess I didn't really look for food items like that up north, but then again maybe they just weren't there.

The idea of puting a whole breakfast into a taco or even brisket tacos is simple and amazing.  I have even thought about moving back just to open a restaurant with those specific items.  Kolache's are so good too.  They are probably one of the easiest things to make and the different ingredients you can use are endless.

On weekends I love waking up and going to get a breakfast taco, they are amazing and I think everyone should enjoy and experience one.  Granted you can always go to McDonalds or Whataburger to get one but it's just not the same getting one from the local Mexican restaurant.

Whataburger is another place I love about Texas.  I will never forget the first time I had a Whataburger.  It was amazing and sure beat any other fast food place around.  I will go through Whataburger phases where I will eat there a few times a week for a couple weeks, take a break, then do it again.  Their Whatachicken is amazing, too.

Shiner Bock, well that's one of the best beers I've tasted with my first choice always being Budweiser.  I will say that most people around the USA have heard of that beer and they also love it.  However, a Texas product that isn't as popular to Americans is a vodka made in Austin, Texas.  I'm talking about Tito's Vodka.  I don't know what it is about that stuff but I immediately became addicted when I first had some mixed with cranberry juice.  I'm a sucker for cranberry and vodka, maybe add in some pineapple juice, but always add a lime.

When it comes to beef jerky, I'm always excited to go to bucees and get a half pound of sweet and spicy beef jerky.  Sure some people like Pracek's better but I'm totally addicted to Bucees and everything else they have.  I always get some jalapeno pimento spread and put some on the beef jerky.  If you have never tried that, your missing out for sure.

There are so many other topics I can talk about how Texas is so better than any other state,  but that would probably turn into a novel and we both probably don't have the time.  The fact is that Texas is simply the best.   Here in Texas we don't have to go very far to get a certain type of food and Texans love all types.  If  your getting some ribs and brisket, eating mexican, sushi, dining at a seafood place, or even going to Whataburger, I guarantee you it tastes better than anything you've ever had and you will never forget all the experiences with food, whether your visiting or have lived here all your life.  The steaks are bigger, the tacos are authentic, the burgers are one of a kind.  God Bless Texas and all the amazing things it offers.
