Carl Pittman will be the speaker at the Yoakum Community Center for the Republican Women of Yoakum on Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2014 at 11:30 a.m.. Pittman is the author of, “The Personal Journey of a Black Common Sense Conservative”, a book about his own history. He has plans to run for Harris County Sheriff in 2016. Visitors are welcomed. Lunch will be served. Freewill donations are accepted.

Texas U.S. Senator Ted Cruz will be speaking at the Yoakum Community Center as part of an event hosted by the Republican Women of Yoakum. The event takes place on Friday, July 11, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. General admission tickets cost $20. Reserved seats cost $50.

The Republican Women of Yoakum will hold their monthly meeting at 11:30 a.m. on June 4. Retired Master Sergeant Jim Gibson, Dr. Mike Vickers and Linda Vickers, organizers and leaders of the Texas Border Volunteers, will speak to area citizens on the illegal immigration problem.
