Overturning a policy that has been in place for many years, the Obama administration announced Wednesday it will now send condolence letters to the families of service members who commit suicide.

"This issue is emotional, painful, and complicated," President Barack Obama said in a statement. "But these Americans served our nation bravely ... They didn't die because they were weak. And the fact that they didn't get the help they needed must change."

"I maintain the strong conviction that if I were to run, I would be able to win the primary and ultimately, the general election," Trump said in a statement, according to ABC News. "I have spent the past several months unofficially campaigning and recognize that running for public office cannot be done half heartedly. Last year, Barack Obama threw out the first pitch at the Washington Nationals home opener, continuing a tradition of Presidents throwing out first pitches that stretches back to William Howard Taft in 1910.

This year, however, Obama is taking a pass on getting the season started with a ceremonial first pitch. Instead, recently unemployed talk show host Larry King will do the honor before the Nationals’ Thursday-afternoon match-up with the Atlanta Braves.

Some of President Obama’s critics have suggested he doesn’t want to take to the mound because his past attempts at first pitches have been, well, not good.
