A day when you want to show your special lady just how much you love her. Of course, it's also the day when a fella might feel it's the best time to pop the question.

That's not necessarily a bad thing. If you're going to ask, Valentine's is just as good a time as any. Of course, it also depends on how you plan to do the asking.

Personally, I think one of the worst inventions known to man (and marriage proposals) is the public event proposal. You've probably even seen one or two at a live sporting event. The happy couple pops up on the Jumbotron and suddenly the guy is pulling the ring out and popping the question... and more often than not, the weeping woman happily accepts, the crowd goes wild, and everyone feels a little better about themselves.

But that's not always the case.
