While I was not 'raised' on Polka music (as so many here in South Texas have been), I must say I had a blast playing at the 3rd annual (and my 2nd-ever) Polka show at the Flag City Opry last night! Man, when you've got 3 or 4 horns (trumpets/saxes) playing along with the band, it sounds HUGE! The 'Flag City Opry' will be Tuesday evening at 7pm at 411 N. Wells Street in Edna. A catered meal will be served by Werner's of Shiner at 6pm. The meal will consist of grilled chicken breast, rice pilaf, green beans, lettuce salad, rolls and tea for $7.00 per plate. The show is $5.00 per ticket.

On Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014, I made my debut as the "official" drummer for the Flag City Opry band in Edna, TX. It is truly an honor to get to play with such a fine group of musicians, and to get to back up all of the great singers and guests on the show!
