One lucky Taste of Country reader has just over two weeks to clear a space on his wall for a picture of himself hanging out with Lady Antebellum. Phillip Lawrence was chosen as the winner of last month’s flyaway to see the band. He and a guest will fly to St. Louis for the once in a lifetime event later this month.

In Victoria, we are very proud of our young people and the many pursuits made available to them, not the least of which are the great music programs at all of our fine schools. Tuesday evening you will have a chance to support  the Victoria West High School Band.

This Sunday everyone has a great chance to support the youth of Goliad High School by attending a scholarship fund raiser put on by the Goliad High School Band.

Slowly but surely, dates for Blake Shelton‘s much-anticipated 2012 Well Lit and Amplified Tour are being announced, and fans will be happy to know that the trek will begin as early as January. Though the ‘Honey Bee’ hitmaker will be headlining his run, he won’t be going out alone — Shelton is packing up his favorite ‘The Voice’ runner-up Dia Frampton and country crooner Justin Moore for the ride.

Rascal Flatts may have just wrapped up their summertime Flatts Fest Tour, but they are already looking ahead to 2012 and have announced their next headlining trek. The Thaw Out Tour is set to kick off on January 12 in Charleston, W.V. at the Civic Center Coliseum and will wrap on February 18 when they stop in East Rutherford, N.J. after visiting 14 cities.

It was impressive enough that Taylor Swift booked a four-night run of sellout performances at L.A.’s Staples Center.
