It's a holiday weekend and a lot of drivers will be on the road visiting friends and family. A lot of those people will be celebrating, maybe just a little too much, and Texas troopers will be out in force looking for those drivers.

Officials announced yesterday that those troopers will also be looking for drivers who aren't wearing their safety belts.

Last year, Texas troopers arrested over 200 people for driving while intoxicated, wrote over 5,000 speeding tickets, and cited over 600 drivers for not having insurance. They also cited nearly 600 people for seat belt and child safety seat violations.

Don't be a statistic. Drive sober, drive safely, and arrive alive.
