The Annual Wildflower Workshop will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 22 at the Welder Wildlife Foundation, 10620 U.S. Highway 77, near Sinton. Lynn Drawe, former director of the Welder Wildlife Foundation and well-known range plant ecologist, will lead workshop participants through an introduction to wildflowers and native plants. The Victoria Advocate says he will also teach the steps for identifying plants using a key in the field. Drawe's program will include classroom instruction and activities in the field.

The workshop is limited to 25 participants, and pre-registration is required by March 18. To register for the workshop, send your name, address, email, phone number and $30 registration fee to Wildflower Workshop, Welder Wildlife Foundation, P.O. Box 1400, Sinton, Texas 78387. The registration fee includes participation in the workshop, lunch, materials, a plant press and transportation during the field activities on the refuge.
