Shiner Church Picnic September 6th

The Shiner Catholic Church Annual Fall Picnic will be held at the Knights of Columbus Park in Shiner on September 6th. Shiner picnic stew, fried chicken, sausage and all the trimmings, tea and dessert will be served from 10:30 to 2 p.m. Drive through to-go plates are available from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. the at American Legion Hall on alternate state Highway 90 East. All plates are $10. There will be lots of free music in the air conditioned hall from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. with accordion music from 2-5 p.m. by Shiner Hobos. Music outside the historic beer stand from 1-5 p.m. by Jack Motley, and Bill Pekar. The Rainey Brothers will be featured from 5-8:30 p.m. The Emotions will play inside the air conditioned hall from 8:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. Admission is free for ages 21 and over. A big country auction, country store, cake and plant wheels, bingo, arts and crafts, hamburgers, and lots of games for children, including moon walk, will be held throughout the day.
