Shiner Catholic Church will have its Annual Spring Picnic at the Knights of Columbus Park in Shiner. Pre-picnic activities begin on Saturday, with the Shiner Sunset Fun Run at 6:30 p.m. and music under the pavilion featuring Jeremy Halliburton and Bill Pekar and the Rainey Brothers. The historic beer stand will be open and hamburgers will be available. On Sunday, a motorcycle run will be held with registration beginning at 10:30 a.m. Dinner is served from 10:30 a.m-2 p.m. The menu consist of Shiner picnic stew, fried chicken, sausage and trimmings. Drive thru plates to go from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at American Legion Hall on alternate state Highway 90 East. All plates are $9. There will be lots of free music in the air conditioned hall from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. with accordion music from 2-4 p.m. by the Shiner Hobos. From 4- 7 p.m., Chris Rybak will be featured along with special guest Santiago Jimenez. Music outside the historic beer stand from noon-3 p.m. by All Star Entertainment and from 3- 6 p.m. by Classic Top Hits by Vic and Beav. Also music under the bingo pavilion will feature Los Kolaches from 6-10 p.m. The Emotions will play inside the air conditioned hall from 9 p.m.-1 a.m.; with an admission fee. A big country auction, country store, cake and plant wheels, bingo, arts and crafts, hamburgers, and lots of games for children will be held throughout the day. Everyone is invited to attend.
