The Refugio County Jamboree canceled its January show after its event organizer died Sunday night. Richard Faircloth, of Yoakum and formerly of Victoria, organized the monthly show for several years, friend J.D. McGuill told the Victoria Advocate. Faircloth also directed local band, The Whiskey River, for more than 30 years and played drums.

The jamboree, which takes place the fourth Thursday of the month at the county community center, is expected to resume in February.

KIXS 108 sends it's condolences to the Faircloth family and friends.
