“Red Solo Cup” By Toby Keith Passes 3 Million Views Online

The music business has changed by leaps and bounds over the past ten or fifteen years. It used to be all about selling records and concert tickets. And, though these things still play a huge role in the equation, there are now other factors involved… like “digital downloads” and “online views”. There are many artists nowadays who rely strictly on the internet to make a living. The Bellamy Brothers come to mind. They’ve been doing it for years. But the most successful artists are the ones that have incorporated the internet into their already prosperous careers.
CMT Daily Roundup reports that Toby Keith’s viral “Red Solo Cup” video has passed 3-million views online. While Toby does a little acting in the “Red Solo Cup,” don’t expect the country star to make a return to the big screen anytime soon. “When you look back at the end of the year, you go, ‘Man, you know what? I ended up doing a lot of other stuff that I shouldn’t have been doing and it was eating my calendar up.’ So, I’m learning to back up from those things a little more.” Due to the song’s high demand at his live shows, Toby has been known to perform “Red Solo Cup” twice just to please the fans.
