POC 5K Set for Saturday

The Second Annual POC 5K and Dolphin Run Kids K will be Saturday. The 5K is an optional run or walk and will take place at King Fisher Park. A new one-mile course will be available for walkers and children registered for the Dolphin Run. The race begins and ends at the front beach. Pre-registration is available online at active.com. Register early to receive a free T-shirt. Online registration closes at noon Friday, says the Victoria Advocate.

Dolphin Run Kids K is for children 12 and under. All participants will receive ribbons. First through third place 5K participants will receive prizes according to age categories. Complimentary refreshments, snacks and water will be provided for all participants. Entertainment, artisans and vendors will be present at the event.

The run/walk takes place from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday at King Fisher Park in Port O'Connor. Registration is$25 for adults and $20 for children. Proceeds will be donated to the Port O'Connor Chamber of Commerce to fund beautification efforts and development at King Fisher Park. For more details, email runpoc5k@gmail.com.
