Paula Gonzales Earns the Golden Apple Award

Each school year brings new challenges for students and teachers are heroes to our community.  This week Townsquare Media and Gone Bananas would like to give Paula Gonzales at Hopkins Academy Elementary the Golden Apple Award! Alondra Lopez and Shadow-Ranee Gomez  submitted  Paula’s name.  Here is what they had to say…

She is the computer teacher for all grade levels and is very caring. She also teaches Cheerleading to girls in the 3rd to 5th grade. We started off with 2 coaches but then one moved and no one stepped in to help her. It can get very hard when some of the girls don't pay attention. But she has a lot of patience and doesn't give up on us. We've had teachers drop out because it was too much for them, but she has stood by us no matter what. If it wasn't for her we wouldn't have a cheerleading squad..
