The University of Houston-Victoria is preparing to welcome a second wave of potential students to campus at the end of January. The next Jaguar Day is scheduled for Jan. 31. The day will begin with check-in at 10 a.m. in the lobby of Jaguar Hall, 2705 Houston Highway. The event will continue until about 2 p.m. and is open to any interested student. The event will follow a similar format to the previous Jaguar Day, including a come-and-go information session in Jaguar Hall from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and tours of the UHV campus and Victoria, says the Victoria Advocate.

The information session will include representatives from all of UHV's student-related departments and academic schools as well as some of the student organizations, said Jena West, senior coordinator for Letting Education Achieve Dreams and Student Recruitment.

About 150 students signed up for the Nov. 15 event, which made it the largest Jaguar Day UHV has hosted, Lagal said. In addition to the good attendance, many of the students followed through by applying to UHV or are almost finished with their paperwork. More than 100 students have sent in an RSVP for the Jan. 31 event.

To sign up for any of the Jaguar Days, go online to uhv.edu/jagday. Registration is not required to attend, but it helps the university with planning. If possible, visitors should sign up online by Jan. 30 for the Jan. 31 event. For those who can't attend Jaguar Days, personal tours are offered throughout the year. Visitors should fill out a tour request form online at uhv.edu/recruitment/campustours.aspx.
