Before early voting opens Tuesday, Victoria voters will have another opportunity to meet the candidates and ask them questions. The League of Women Voters-Victoria, a nonpartisan political organization, and the Victoria College Student Government Association are co-sponsoring a candidate forum for contested local races in the March primary election. The forum is set for 6 p.m. Monday at the Leo J. Welder Center for the Performing Arts, 214 N. Main St. Admission is free. Local League President Kathy Hunt said both Republican county judge candidates, a county court-at-law candidate and two justice of the peace candidates have confirmed they will participate. Candidates will give brief remarks and then will field written questions from the audience. There will also be time for voters to speak one on one with the candidates.

Because the event is structured as a forum, audience members have a greater opportunity to have their questions answered, Hunt told the Victoria Advocate.
