Lauren Alaina has always been vocal about her deep love for kids with special needs, and she recently opened up about how these sweet fans inspire her every single time she's with them.

The 'American Idol' singer tells Fox News more about her respect and care for these special kids. Whether she's involved with ACM's Lifting Lives Music Camp or due to her role as Special Olympics Ambassador, she always comes away feeling so uplifted.  "You're trying to lift their day, but in reality, they're lifting my day and it's such an amazing feeling," the singer said.

She goes on to recall, "There was a little girl that I met and she told me I was her inspiration and I was like, 'Really? That's weird, because you're my inspiration.'" Such an amazing compliment from the country music star probably made an incredible impact in that young girl's life.

Before the 18-year-old small town gal was discovered on 'Idol,' she used to sing to the special needs kids at her high school. With her sweet personality, huge heart and friendly demeanor, Alaina is a true inspiration for all of her fans.
