Shiner Catholic Church Picnic Sunday

Shiner Catholic Church Annual Spring Picnic will be held at the Knights of Columbus Park in Shiner on Sunday, May 24. A motorcycle run will be held with registration beginning at 10:30 am. Dinner begins at 10:30 am until 2:00 pm with Shiner Picnic Stew, Fried Chicken, Sausage and trimmings, tea and dessert included. Drive thru plates to go from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm at American Legion Hall on Hwy 90A East. All plates are $10.00.

I can remember the days when wearing a seat belt in cars was optional. I can even remember riding in some cars that didn't even have seat belts. It was a bit of a hassle to have to buckle up when that law was passed, but nowadays, it's so routine that we don't even give it a second thought. Well, most people don't anyway.

It's a fact-seat belts save lives. That's why the Texas Department of Transportation teams up with area law enforcement agencies this time of year for their annual 'Click It or Ticket' campaign.
