As I was saying earlier, Lady Antebellum has had one heckuva year. Honestly, i'm just scratching the surface as far as their careers and personal lives go. They had so many monumental things happen this year, I couldn't put them all in one blog. It wouldn't have been a blog... it would have been a biography.

Lady Antebellum had the opportunity to make their debut performance on Saturday Night Live in October, which Hillary Scott describes as a dream come true. Hillary told CMT Daily Roundup, “It was one of those things we kind of would joke with our management and publicist like, ‘One day when we do Saturday Night Live,’ or ‘We would love to do it,’ and never really thinking it would be reality.”

During the 2011 CMT Awards held in June, Lady Antebellum took home the award for Group Video of the Year, and Charles Kelly credits CMT for helping jump-start the band’s success. “The CMT Awards, what makes it interesting is it’s all about the videos. It’s such a big part of us, and us early on too, breaking as a band. CMT playing our video before our first song was rocking out there on radio. It has been a big part of our career.”

After releasing their third studio album, Own The Night, Lady Antebellum headlined their first arena tour titled Own The Night, which Hillary Scott described as surreal. ”We drew out the first design on a paper plate, and to go from a paper plate to walking into the room and seeing it all lit up – it’s such a tangible combination of what the past almost five years have been for us.”

David Nail has had the opportunity to open for Lady Antebellum, which is where he believes he found inspiration to strengthen his career. “You know it was an eye opening experience that made me want to do something bigger, brighter, and something that stood on its own – I felt like I did that.”
