Tell your mom to put on her cape and mask and head to downtown Cuero to take part in the KidFest Super Mom competition at 7 p.m. Thursday that features timed events such as peanut butter and jelly sandwich making, diapering a baby and folding laundry. The fastest mom wins a child's bicycle plus tickets to a major Texas attraction, according to a news release from Cuero Main Street, sponsor of KidFest.

KidFest, from 4 to 8 p.m. in downtown Cuero, will also include a fathers' competition, Heels 4 Wheels. At 6 p.m., dads will don high heels and race down Main Street battling for a child's bicycle and tickets to a major Texas attraction, according to the Victoria Advocate.

The kids can also compete in Pickles for Nickels at 5:30 p.m., a timed dill pickle eating contest to win a jar filled with 250 nickles. There will be also be an inflatable water slide, bungee jump and video game truck from San Antonio where kids can play a choice of video games from PlayStation, Wii and Guitar Hero, to name a few.

San Antonio magician Mark Travis will perform at 5 and 7:30 p.m.

There is also a 1-mile fun run beginning at 4:30 p.m. at the Cuero Wellness Center.

KidFest is free to the public. Everyone who registers has a chance to win one of several door prizes including the grand prize of a trip to New Braunfels complete with two night's hotel accommodations at Courtyard by Marriott, tickets to Schlitterbahn, Rockin' R River Rides and Natural Bridge Caverns, according to the news release.

Main Street's KidFest is part of the annual Staycation program, which is also sponsored by the city of Cuero and the Cuero Development Corporation.
