Kelly Clarkson, Brandon Blackstock Have Same Name Picked for Baby Boy or Girl
Soon-to-be mama Kelly Clarkson has a premonition that her firstborn will be a girl. And although she and husband Brandon Blackstock haven't yet found out the baby's sex, it doesn't matter as far as names are concerned -- it will be the same, regardless of gender.
The singer spilled all the baby details on 'Ellen' on Friday (Dec. 6). “I totally want to know [the baby's gender], like right now,” Clarkson admits, adding, “And it doesn’t even matter because, honestly, the name we’ve picked, if it’s a boy or a girl, it’s the same name."
Of course, the hilarious DeGeneres began to jokingly guess at the baby's name, with gender-neutral guesses Chris, Pat and Billy, but Clarkson insisted the host wasn't going to get it.
"You won’t guess it. It’s a random name. But it’s not like … ‘Blue Jazz,'" she says. "It’s not going to be a weird name.” Hmm ... it sounds like she may be alluding to a well-known singer named Beyonce, because we have to admit, Blue Ivy is a little, well, different.
The 'Wrapped in Red' singer has had a rough first trimester and is currently 11 weeks pregnant. Clarkson says humorously that when she talks to women who weren't sick during their pregnancy, "I want to hit all of them with my car ... I vomit a good dozen times a day. It’s bad."
She even confessed that she threw her cookies right before walking out on set.
"Everybody tells you you glow and your hair is pretty and your nails are pretty. That is total crap," Clarkson furthers. "My nails are short, my hair still falls out, it’s not all lush and beautiful, and I have no glow -- unless it’s something left over from a bad throw-up. It’s horrible."
As DeGeneres began looking more and more queasy, Clarkson rushed to say, "I'm done talking!"
But although her pregnancy has been really, really trying, the superstar is beyond thrilled. "I’m so happy I’m pregnant," she quickly insists. "I just wish he or she would stop trying to kill me!"
Hopefully, the 'American Idol' alum will be feeling in tip-top shape in no time. At least she made it through her time on 'Ellen' with no runs to the restroom!
