Get a chance to raid other people's closets this weekend at Junior League of Victoria Inc.'s annual Spring Sweep Rummage Sale. Victoria residents have dug into their homes to donate clothes, home decor, toys and more for a good cause. Shoppers can score big discounts on goods at the annual fundraiser with all funds donated to the Junior League's projects. The Junior League makes financial contributions to nonprofits in the community to help fund their programs, reports the Victoria Advocate. Co-chair Angela Gomez said this includes funding Devereux birthday parties, Community Assistance Funds, Blessings in a Backpack, Project Esperanza and the Mitchell Guidance Center. Members also volunteer for these organizations and many others. Members have been collecting items and organizing this event since September. Gomez said there's still time to donate new and gently used items for the sale. Junior League members will collect items until 5 p.m. Thursday. And it's a tax-deductible donation, she added.

The sale runs from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m Friday and Saturday at the National Guard Armory. Admission will be $1 per person. She said the first 300 people will receive a Spring Sweep reusable tote bag. People who return on Saturday with the bag will get free admission.

Gomez said home decor, clothes for the whole family, and big items can be found at the rummage sale. She said there's an entertainment center, a nice dining room set and after looking through some of the stacks she found items with designer labels.

Attendees can purchase $5 raffle tickets for a chance to win one of two big packages. The women's package features a Kate Spade purse from Urban Exchange and the family package includes a 42-inch TV from Stallion Oilfield services. The packages also include gift cards. Gomez said the winners do not have to be present to win. The winners will be announced Saturday.

She said several local businesses helped make the event possible and donated items for the raffle packages. Sponsors include Susan Armstrong Cain with Armstrong Mayflower, Sign Crafters, Brian Ferguson, We Buy and Sell Real Estate, Urban Exchange, The Sendera and many others.

The sale takes place Friday and Saturday at the National Guard Armory. Admission is $1. For more information email adb.bernal@gmail.com.
