1986: George Strait's daughter Jennifer was killed in a car accident near San Marcos, Texas.

1987: Reba McEntire filed for divorce from Charlie Battles.

1996: new album releases included Trace Adkins' debut, "Dreamin' Out Loud" and Wade Hayes' sophomore effort, "On A Good Night."

1998: Johnny Cash returned to a Nashville stage and performed for the first time since he was stricken with Shy-Drager Syndrome the preceding October.  He joined a surprised Kris Kristofferson, who was singing at a tribute to Johnny and Waylon Jennings at the Ryman Auditorium.

1999: Shania Twain's "Shania Twain Live" video was certified Gold.

2002: Trace Adkins made his 10th (and final) appearance on ABC-TV's "Politically Incorrect."

2005: "American Idol" winner Carrie Underwood's "Inside Your Heaven" debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart.  Carrie became the first country artist to debut at the top of the Hot 100.  She's also the first country artist to top that chart since Lonestar took "Amazed" to number one in 2000.

2006: Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman were married in a ceremony in Sydney, Australia, at a chapel overlooking the Pacific Ocean.

2007: Little Big Town's Phillip Sweet announced that his wife, Rebecca, was pregnant.  Penelopi Jane Sweet was born in December.

2007: Charlie Daniels received the Secretary of Defense Medal at a ceremony at the Pentagon in recognition of his unwavering support for U.S. troops.

2009: Lady Antebellum's Charles Kelley revealed that he and his girlfriend Cassie McConnell were legally married in a ceremony in Nashville.
