This is a really strange and fickle business. I actually had people tell me... people in positions of power and responsibility in the country music industry... That "Country Girl (Shake It For Me) was DOA and never going anywhere on the charts. Here's the strange part... I heard the same thing about "I Don't Want This Night To End". I guess it's good that I don't listen too well.

Luke Bryan is back at the top of the charts this week with “I Don’t Want This Night to End.” The single is the follow-up to his smash “Country Girl (Shake It For Me).” With the latest #1 single from his Tailgates & Tanlines album, Luke is hoping to follow in the footsteps of another country hit maker on the charts. Luke told CMT Daily Roundup, “I look at the way it went down with Jason Aldean when he did ‘She’s Country’ and then—BAM—and then ‘Big Green Tractor’ where he just kept outdoing himself. So I just pray to God that I can keep doing that and keep upping the ante on songs.” Luke is currently sharing the stage with Jason on his 2012 My Kinda Party Tour.

Jason kicked off his tour this past weekend with three sold-out shows, setting new attendance records in all three arenas that he played in.
You can hear Luke Bryan and Jason Aldean every day on KIXS 108.
