Crossroads residents now have the chance to bring less-fortunate children a good night's sleep. Through Ashley Furniture HomeStore's A Hope to Dream program, for every mattress purchased at the company's Victoria or Yoakum locations, $5 goes to provide beds to local children in need, according to an Ashley news release. Children are a vital part of a growing community, Paige Streiff, who owns Ashley's Victoria and Yoakum stores, told the Victoria Advocate. "We believe by helping a child sleep well, they are poised to lead a healthier and more productive life," she said. "A child's bed also provides a safe haven at night and, most importantly, a place to dream."

Community members are encouraged to refer a child for consideration to receive a kids' mattress set. To nominate a child, complete a nomination form and a short essay - 100 words or fewer - explaining why the child should receive the mattress set. Applications are  available at the Ashley HomeStore in Victoria or Yoakum or electronically by emailing AHopeToDream@ashleyfurniture.com.
