‘HeartChase’ June 30th In Riverside Park

It's going to be like the "Amazing Race" of Victoria. HeartChase is designed to raise awareness of heart disease and it's prevention.

Checkpoints and clues will be scattered throughout Riverside Park on June 30 for a first in Victoria - it's called HeartChase - an active-intensive event planned by the American Heart Association aimed at teaching residents the importance of living healthier lives free of heart disease and stroke, according to the news release and the event's website.

Teams of two-to-four people will race around the park, completing checkpoints, finding clues and earning points by texting their achievements and receiving game-related updates on the HeartChase App, reports the Victoria Advocate. Like "The Amazing Race" the competitive, but friendly, challenge requires teams to run around the world, or in this case, park, and complete challenges in order to get their next clue. HeartChase - Adventure with Heart, is much like that and like "Minute to Win It" another challenge-intensive game show.

Because cardiovascular disease and stroke are the nation's No. 1 and 3 killers, this event will promote how healthy living can lead to a healthy heart.
